Nike launched the On Air contest to give people a chance to create their very own Air Max design inspired by the cities they’re proud to call home. The Air Max 1 'On Air: Tokyo Maze' sneaker, designed by Tokyo winner Yuta Takuman, was released in April 2019. Takuman’s monochromatic labyrinth leather upper and rainbow colored laces pay homage to the city’s intricate subway system. Below, the visible red Max Air unit is a nod to the iconic Tokyo Tower.
